Nicko van Someren, Linux Foundation. Open Source Software plays a key role in many critical components of both the internet and the businesses that run on the internet. When these open source projects are vulnerable the impact can be far reaching. In this talk we will discuss efforts, both tactical and strategic, to drive improved security in the open source projects on which the modern world is built. We will examine some successes and some less successful efforts to secure these components and we will discuss how both developers and consumers of open source software can help with these efforts.
