Biography
Werner Schindler joined the Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI) in 1993. Currently, he is the head of a section, which is responsible for the evaluation of cryptographic mechanisms. His main areas of professional expertise are mathematical cryptography, side-channel analysis and RNGs. Werner Schindler is co-editor of the mathematical-technical reference to the evaluation guidelines AIS 20 (deterministic RNGs) and AIS 31 (physical RNGs), which have been effective in the German certification scheme (Common Criteria) for almost two decades. Furthermore, he is adjunct professor of mathematics at the Technical University of Darmstadt.
