Biography
Throughout his career, Philip Lafrance has worked at the forefront of emerging technologies, contributing to critical efforts in quantum-safe cryptography, cyber risk management, and IT modernization. Previously, he has served as Vice-Chair of ETSI TC CYBER WG QSC and as Lead Technical Editor for ASC X9’s 2022 report on “Quantum Computing Risks to the Financial Services Industry”. In 2024, Philip was rapporteur of the ETSI Technical Report, “A Repeatable Framework for Quantum-Safe Migrations”, which outlined actionable strategies for organizations transitioning their digital footprints to a fully quantum-safe state. Currently Philip serves as Interim Lead for Quantum Industry Canada’s Standards Working Group and as a member of Canada’s ISO/IEC JTC-3 (Quantum Technologies) National Mirror Committee.
