Update on AIS 20/31 (N20b)
The BSI evaluation guidelines for random number generators, AIS 20 and AIS 31, have been effective in the German Common Criteria certification scheme for over 20 years, and were last updated in 2011. At the time of ICMC 2022, a draft of an update of the AIS 20/31 will have been published, asking for public comments. This talk provides an overview of its key features. The focus will be on physical random number generators. In particular, the relation between the stochastic model and the online test (a.k.a. health test) are highlighted, and the entropy statements of the AIS 20/31 are explained.
