ISO/IEC 19790—Where to Next? (C21a)
As the ongoing update of ISO/IEC 19790 moves to the committee draft stage, this talk will look to review trends for cryptographic modules and review what opportunities exist to evolve the standard looking forward. This talk will draw on experiences from a vendor perspective on fitting both traditional and future cryptographic modules to ISO/IEC 19790:2012 as part of FIPS 140-3 submissions alongside to highlight some of the challenges experienced both through the ISO standardization process and separately also as discussed and raised by vendors and test laboratories through the Cryptographic Module Users Forums (CMUF).
