COVID-19 UPDATE

Update March 17, 2021 — ICMC21 TO BE PRESENTED AS A HYBRID EVENT, SEPTEMBER 1-3

In consultation with the ICMC program committee and the commercial cryptography community, ICMC21 will presented September 1-3 at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda, MD, USA. ICMC will be presented as a hybrid (webcast and live) event. Speakers and attendees will have the option to participate live on site, or remotely by webcast. The safety of our participants is always our first concern–ICMC will follow the CDC’s safe meeting guidelines.

The survey of last year’s ICMC attendees showed that the vast majority (over 75%) wanted to return to a live event. Given the steady decline in Covid infections and the increase in the pace of vaccination, a return to a live event format is now scheduled for the early fall. For those who are unable to attend in person (for any reason) attendance via the web will be possible. Speakers will be able to make presentations via the web as well.

Update July 15, 2020 — ICMC20 TO BE PRESENTED VIRTUALLY

Reopening has stalled in Montgomery County, Maryland and it will not be possible for us to hold ICMC as a face-to-face event at the Bethesda Hyatt. This caution is understandable given the resurgence of Covid-19 in many US states. After reviewing options, the ICMC20 program committee has decided that the best path forward will be to present ICMC20 as a virtual event, which will take place online September 21-24, 2020. Given the extensive content that is presented at ICMC, the agenda will be reformatted to make it work online. ICMC20 Virtual will include live speaker presentations, Q&A, and opportunities for networking, sponsor branding, sponsor presentations, and virtual booths. ICMC will return to a live event format in the first half of 2021, if progress against the virus permits.

We’ve had many, many requests to make ICMC virtual and we expect a high level of participation, given the changes in FIPS and post-quantum standards, combined with the pent up demand from the extended quarantine.

Update March 9, 2020 — ICMC POSTPONED

The health and safety of our conference attendees is always our first concern. With that in mind, we have been evaluating the rapidly developing situation with Covid-19 in the United States. At this point, it will not be possible to hold ICMC at the previously scheduled date. ICMC has been rescheduled to take place August 25-28, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda, Maryland. We regret any inconvenience this may cause. If you are currently scheduled to participate as an attendee, speaker or sponsor, no action is needed. If you made a hotel reservation at the Hyatt, it will be transferred automatically. We’ll follow up with more information as it becomes available.
