In 2014, Shawn began building the first Apple Platform Security Certifications Program formalizing the engineering processes for certifying against global security standards. During his 25+ years at Apple, Shawn lead the engineering work for Platform Certifications and built Apple’s SECLAB (NVLAP accredited, first-party Crypto Lab) while also being the lab manager, tooling developer, and evidence whisperer. Shawn has started a new chapter in 2024 and launched a startup, Katalyst LLC. Shawn is driven to provide the community with approachable tooling for certifications.
