PQC in the OpenSSL Library (Q21a)
This talk presents the integration of post-quantum cryptography (PQC) into the OpenSSL Library, ensuring readiness for the quantum era. OpenSSL 3.5 introduces NIST-approved algorithms, ML-KEM, ML-DSA, and SLH-DSA, to protect against record-now, decrypt-later threats and enable hybrid TLS key exchange. The session covers implementation details, practical usage examples, and interoperability with other libraries and providers. By supporting modern standards and offering practical tools for developers, the OpenSSL Library continues its mission to deliver secure, quantum-resistant cryptography for long-term data protection and trusted communications.
