Valuable Certifications (C21a)
Most of the 100+ products we certify a year are “platforms” that need to be composed with software towards a complete end-product. It is those end-products that actually have the requirements for certifications. Be it against a standard like ISA/IEC 62443 or ETSI 303645, against state or federal guidelines, or even ‘just’ to show “state of the art security” to mitigate legal liability: these end-product requirements are what really matter in a business sense. This talk goes into what makes certifications of the platforms valuable for the end-product producers, how that can be provided with evaluation methodology and branding, and more, using the example of 62443 industrial IoT certifications.
