Panel Discussion: Testing and Assessment for Quantum Safe Cryptography (Q21b)
The quantum era is driving new cryptographic primitives, algorithms, protocols, applications, and systems. These advances can spur secure innovation for new and improved technologies. However, cryptography must be trusted in order to achieve these benefits. Because the underlying principles of cryptography today require deep technical knowledge of math, physics and engineering, moving from theory into practice requires building trust in both cryptographic technology and related implementations. This is a time not only to apply existing testing paradigms to these technologies, but a time to develop new paradigms for advanced cryptographic methods. Which of our existing testing and assessment tools work well for the era of quantum safe cryptography (including PQC, QKD, and more) and what else do we need?
