The Basics of ACVP Communication and Interaction (C43c)

ACVP is becoming the only accepted method by which cryptographic algorithms are validated and certified with NIST. As the CAVS tool’s time comes to an end, so to do some of the processes and procedures that both vendors and labs might be used to. From the perspective of a software developer, this talk will go through the basic machinations from tip to tail required when interacting with ACVP as experienced while writing the tooling to perform the interactions. It will detail and describe: – Authentication – Algorithm Capability Registration – Vector Set Retrieval – Vector Response Submission – Creation of Resources (OE, Vendor, Module) – Test Session Submission
