Random Numbers, Entropy Sources and You (N12a)
The NIST Special Publication (SP) 800-90 series of recommendations provide guidance on the construction and validation of random bit generators in the form of deterministic random bit generators or non-deterministic random bit generators that can be used for cryptographic applications. This talk provides an overview of cryptographic random bit generation, the notion of entropy and discusses the status of the SP 800-90 series.
