Cryptographic Agility: Did we say enabling PQC would be easy? (Q22a)

NIST post quantum cryptography (PQC) candidates will soon undergo a third round of vetting and standards are likely to be published in draft form by 2022. But the real work to prepare for PQC migration has only just begun as organizations begin to take stock of their public key cryptography usage and what lies ahead on the path toward migration. In this session, I will discuss challenges in cryptography agility, a family of technologies needed to enable the transition from one cryptographic standard to another within a system or application. The session will consider the needs of various stakeholders in PQC migration, numerous obstacles to be navigated, and what we’re really looking for in tomorrow’s agile migration frameworks.
