Panel Discussion: Technology Challenges in CM Validation (G13a) Nevine Ebeid is a Principal Engineer at TrustPoint Innovation (recently merged with ESCRYPT/ETAS, Canada) with a comprehensive background in cryptography and embedded systems programming. She’s particularly passionate about implementing effective and efficient low-level algorithms. Nevine received a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, where her research was focused on countermeasures to side-channel attacks on cryptographic algorithms, especially those pertaining to elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) and was able to successfully apply her field of research and go beyond it at BlackBerry, Certicom and TrustPoint Innovation.
Nevine worked on the HW design and firmware of a public key crypto-accelerator that was targeted to meet CC EAL 5+ with multiple countermeasures to power and electromagnetic emanations side-channel attacks as well as countermeasures to fault attacks for both ECC and RSA.
Nevine also contributed to software libraries that were target to FIPS certification.
